Pools and Spas

Pools and Bathing Areas are regulated under Chapter 64E-9 of the Florida Administrative Code (FAC). This program does not include the many private swimming pools in our community. However, apartment complexes and condominiums are also included.
All of these facilities are inspected at least twice a year to assure:
- Proper disinfection of pool water
- Chemical balance of pool water
- Filtration equipment is properly maintained
- Safety equipment is maintained on site
In addition, fresh water natural bathing areas must submit monthly bacteriological water samples for laboratory analysis during the bathing season.
