TB skin testing is not routinely recommended. In Florida, skin testing is only recommended for groups at high risk for exposure to TB and groups at high of progression from infection to disease. Therefore, the Orange County Health Department (OCHD) only tests contacts to active cases of TB Disease.

The reporting of active TB cases is required by law under Florida Statutes Chapter 381. The OCHD is responsible for every TB patient in their county, including those patients who are treated privately.
